This weekend was the opening ceremonies for the Antarctica Season of Exploration. All of Christchurch is abuzz with the festivities that revolve around the exploration and mystique of the continent of ice and snow that is Antarctica. I was invited to a cocktail party thrown by the mayor of Christchurch in which many important dignitaries were present. It is odd being surrounded by Generals from multinational forces as well as international Ambassadors and generally famous people. It is quite a humbling experience...but then again I am part of something much bigger than what I realize. That whole "Bellwether for God" thing kicks in...Making the Ordinary Extraordinary!
